About the MBA

CSU’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program focuses on the fundamentals of the key business areas and equips you with an opportunity to learn and develop the critical skills necessary to become a more effective manager, and a future business leader.

  • The CSU's 1.5 years MBA program is only available to students with work experience
  • This course is also available to you if you have a degree and at least three years relevant work experience.

* Only available to Australian citizens or holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas (who meet eligibility requirements).

Advanced standing

  • Credit into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) is awarded based on studies completed at postgraduate or equivalent level. You may receive credit for up to 50% of the course (six 8 point subjects) for studies completed within the last ten years.
  • No credit will be given for subjects completed at the undergraduate level.
  • If you have been admitted to the MBA based on the successful completion of the CSU Master of Business and meet the relevant work experience requirements, you will be eligible for up to 50% credit into the MBA program depending on subjects studied.

Course structure

The 1.5 years MBA comprises twelve subjects and provides students with the ability to tailor your degree to suit your needs and career aspirations.

Core and Foundation subjects

You must complete all four core subjects and four Foundation subjects.

Restricted electives/specialisation

Students may choose to study a general MBA by completing four Level 5 postgraduate restricted elective subjects taken from the Faculty of Business, or students may choose to specialise in one of the four discipline areas by completing four of the prescribed subjects in a specialisation set.

In addition to the core, foundation and professional development subjects, students may choose to study a general MBA by completing four Level 5 postgraduate restricted elective subjects taken from the Faculty of Business. Alternatively, students may choose to complete one of the following specialisations.
