Master of Business – Extended version
About the Master of Business (2 years)
CSU's Master of Business course will equip you with knowledge in a set of core management subjects and enhanced knowledge in a chosen professional management specialisation.
This course will provide with further understanding of the management function generally as well as its practice in particular professional or occupational areas.
As a graduate you will develop analytical, problem-solving and strategic skills that are relevant to any professional or occupational Management, as well as technical skills and knowledge required for senior management positions. |
* Only available to Australian citizens or holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas (who meet eligibility requirements).
Advanced standing
- You may receive credit for up to 50% of the course for studies completed at postgraduate or equivalent level.
- Eligible for up to 4 subjects credit into the Master of Business if you have completed Australian Bachelor level qualification or equivalent in business. This will reduce the length of study from 12 subjects (1.5 years) to eight subjects (1 year).
- Receive up to 8 subject credits into the CSU MBA - if you have successfully completed the CSU Master of Business with or without work experience. You may complete your MBA study in one year to obtain both the Master of Business and Master of Business Administration qualification in 2 years of study.
- You will need to inform your Course Coordinator if you wish to continue onto the CSU MBA at first semester of your MBus enrolment.
- If you do have have an Australian Bachelor level qualification or equivalent in business, you are required to complete the 96 point (12 subject) Master of Business before entering the MBA with advanced standing.

Course structure
Extended version of the Master of Business is a 16 subject (128 point) program. You will be able to take out an additional specialisation or study 4 more elective subjects. Where a third specialisations is chosen that shares common subjects with already completed specialisation, you will be required to undertake substitute subjects with the approval of the Master of Business Course Coordinator to make up a total of 16 specialistaion.
Upon completion of the extended Master of Business, you will graduate with all specialisations in the award, e.g. Master of Business (name of specialisation 1/name of specialisation 2/name of specialisation 3).
