About the Master of Information Technology
CSU’s Master of Information Technology (MIT) aims to provide advanced training in information technology for graduates with either IT or non-IT backgrounds. It also provides possible entry if you do not have the formal bachelor qualifications and relevant industry experience.
Available to both local and international students, this degree allows students to specialise or undertake a broad program of studies. Subjects provide both industry relevance and appropriate depth.
The MIT is also designed to meet the needs of practising information technology professionals and enable them to further develop their level of expertise.
*New study stream: Systems Analysis
CSU's new Systems Analysis stream addresses the increasing global demand for for qualified Systems Analysis professionals. The Systems Analyst (also called the Solutions Architect) works with project managers and developers to realise overall organisational IT goals. |
Industry recognition
The Master of Information Technology has been accredited by the Australian Computer Society as meeting the academic requirements for full professional membership.

Advanced standing
Maximum of 8 subjects credit if you have completed a Bachelor of Information Technology from any Australian university.
You will be granted a maximum of 8 subjects credit if you have:
An undergraduate (or honours) degree with specialisation in IT or Eligibility for full membership of the Australian Computer Society (ACS)* or A postgraduate diploma in IT at an acceptable level
You may be eligible for credits if you have successfully completed the appropriate graduate level prior studies or from the existing credit transfer arrangements including IT industry certificates such as the Microsoft Certified training programs. |

All of these are introductory level subjects without prerequisites.
The Master of Information Technology consists of the core subjects and a further 10 subjects chosen from those listed below (a minimum of six must be at Level 5).
Subjects have been grouped into streams of interest to aid selection and may be chosen from multiple areas of interest to suit the requirements of each student.

Systems Analysis * 16 subject version. Graduates of BBus/BComm/BAcc need to complete the above 6 core subjects + the 8 recommended subjects below + 2 electives (one must be a 500 level IT subject chosen from the subjects delivered at the Study Centres, the other can be an undergraduate or postgraduate IT subject). |
