Before CSU, what did you do?

Before CSU, I did my Diploma of Information Technology at Martin College. I had completed year 12 in India and after doing few computer courses, I was encouraged to make a career in IT and that brought me to Australia in CSU.

How did you first hear about CSU?

Since, Australia has a lot of opportunities in the IT field, I browsed through all the Australian universities. That’s where I first heard about CSU.

Why did you decide to study at CSU? What helped you make your decision?

I browsed though every university’s websites and then came to a conclusion that CSU is not only a good university, it has been recognised well in IT industry as a quality delivering university.

What is your favourite subject and why?

My favourite subject in all my courses has to be Web programming with JAVA (aka Web Based Information Systems – ITC 357 / ITC 557). My foremost interest in IT has always been programming and JAVA was the first programming language I learned here at CSU. I have strengthened my JAVA skills through various subjects, however, Web programming with Java was a subject that built my knowledge in JAVA and gave me the opportunity to apply it globally. This is the prime reason why I like this subject.

What have you enjoyed most about studying at CSU?

Studying and having fun has always been a part of CSU student life, but what I enjoyed the most is the relationship all students share with their teachers. All the teachers are friendly and down to earth. They understand every student’s problems and their needs. And that’s what makes your experience at CSU enjoyable.

If you have completed your studies, what are you doing now?

Since my completing my studies I have been applying for a good IT jobs.

What are your career ambitions?

My career objective is to become a lead programmer or a project manager in the next 5 years. But the ultimate ambition is to become a lead software analyst where I can apply all my knowledge and live an executive life.

What are your hobbies?

I love reading books, swimming, playing table tennis and learn about new technologies. A new hobby I have developed in the past couple of years is to write programs to reconstruct windows games.

What do you do at the weekends?

Parties and socialisation

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of coming to CSU?

Only one advice, “Unless you are willing to study, do not come to CSU and if you are willing to study, there is nothing better you can have than CSU.”
