What happens next?

This is a general description of what occurs once you’ve submitted your application to study at a CSU Study Centre.

Steps after application is submitted

There may be additional steps depending on the country you are applying from and your visa requirements.

  1. Submit your application

Send your completed application form by post or fax. A Student Enrolment Advisor will be in contact once your application has been received.

  2. Supply the following documents:

You will be asked to supply the following supporting documents. Please be prepared to send these in when a Student Enrolment Advisor contacts you.

    • Certified copies, together with English translations, of your higher secondary school results and/or your academic transcripts for each year of tertiary study
    • Certified copy of your Certificate of Completion for all tertiary study
    • Any other official certificates, such as short courses and diplomas
    • Evidence of your English language proficiency results, for example IELTS or TOEFL

Some courses require additional documentation. We will contact you if any additional documentation is required.

Who is eligible to certify copies?

An authorised officer from the institution that originally issued the documents

    • An Australian Overseas Diplomatic Mission or Australian Education Office
    • Charles Sturt University representative
    • Public Notary
    • Justice of the Peace
    • Charles Sturt University staff member

The authorised office must sign and print their name clearly, include the date and an official stamp or seal of the authorised officer’s organisation.

Once we receive your application, we’ll check to see if you meet all the entry requirements for the course you wish to study.  We will also check that there are places available on your chosen course.

  3. Offer of a place or an alternative plan

If you meet the entry requirements, you will receive a formal Offer of Admission (conditional or unconditional), providing information on the course of offer, starting date and payment of fees. If the course is full or you do not meet the requirements, we will offer you an alternative study plan.

  4. Deposit payment

To confirm your acceptance of the offer and reserve your place you will be required to pay the first instalment of your fees as a deposit.

  5. Accommodation availability check

Upon receipt of your deposit, we will then check the availability of your chosen accommodation and hold a place in your name.

  6. Place confirmation

We will then write to you with a confirmation of your reserved place.

  7. Accommodation & arrival confirmation

In good time for your arrival, we will ask you to forward on your flight information and confirm details about your accommodation.

  8. Meet you at airport or campus

We look forward to welcoming you either at the airport (if you’ve booked an airport pick up) or on campus.
